High-strength cable (UL Standard)

Tatsuta Electric Wire & Cable has developed a high-strength copper alloy wire that is remarkably superior to pure copper wire in tensile strength and repetitive bending strength, and has commercialized "high-strength cable" featuring drastically improved flexibility for robot cables. We believe that this product will satisfactorily meet customer's expectations as a cable for industrial robots and automatic machine tools that make complicated and high-load movements. We can customize the product to meet customers' demands.

  • High-strength cable (UL Standard)
  • Fine wire of high-strength copper alloy, offering superior flex and twist resistance, is used for conductors.
  • Tensile strength is almost 2.2 times that of pure copper wire.
  • ETFE (ethylene tetrafluoroethylene), with high flex resistance, is available for insulators, in addition to heat-resistant vinyl and cross-linked polyethylene.
  • Various shields having high flex resistance or flexibility are available, according to use and conditions.
  • Heat-resistant, oil-proof, low-friction vinyl sheath applicable to various use conditions is used in standard configuration. Special sheathes that are thinner-proof and low-outgassing are available, in addition to sheathes of superior welding spark resistance and flame retardancy.
  • Conforms to RoHS* Directive.
    Eco-friendly type (halogen-free) is also available.

Characteristics of High-Strength Copper Alloy

  • The high-strength copper alloy used for the conductor of high-strength cable is an alloy wire* originally developed by Tatsuta.
    This copper alloy is made using oxygen-free copper as a base, with added trace amounts of iron, phosphorus and special elements. It offers superior tensile strength, repetitive bending strength and conductivity attained through effective heat processing.
